 Our holdings are conveniently housed in the Tumut Shire Library, Wynard St. Tumut and are available for use whenever the library is open.

Experienced volunteer Research Assistants are in attendance on Wednesdays and at other times by appointment

Our Research Assistants have a network of knowledgeable local historians on various subjects and families

We welcome mail inquiries and research is undertaken by donation to the Group with a minimum of $20 for the initial inquiry. Please write with as much detail as you know about your ancestor.

To assist with your visit to Tumut, we recommend you contact us to register your interest and to arrange a time to meet with one of our research assisants.

The holdings of the Tumut Family History Group Inc. are housed in the Tumut Shire Library on open access shelves. We have many of the State Record of NSW records on microfilm and microfiche, including convict records, Early Church Records (pre-1856), Coroners’ Inquests, and Land Commissioner’s Itineraries, numerous cemetery books, reference books, BDM indexes on CD-ROM, the 1881 UK Census, and many other CD’s also readily available at most Family History societies and libraries.
